TV's "Last Choir Standing" competition was the path to fame for the City of Bath Male Choir and its director Grenville Jones.
Since then it has gathered a still wider following, and so the Devizes Lions are delighted that seventy-strong Choir will perform at their annual Spring Serenade
fund-raising concert.

Lions are members of Lions Clubs International, a community service organisation

position to know who needs help and why. Local Clubs are part of the world's largest such
organization, with 1.4 million members serving in more than 180 countries and areas of the world. The
association is both non-political and non-sectarian.

Lions Carol Float:
The Carol Float has now gone back into hibernation as Father Christmas prepares for Christmas Day.
The Lions Club would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of its outings,
incuding Fussell Wadman, who provided the vehicle, and those who put money in the buckets during its travels.
The following letter from Lion President Roger Mapp was published by the Wiltshire Gazette and Herald.
On behalf of Devizes Lions Club I would like to thank all the individuals, businesses and other organisations that have supported Devizes Lions Club at its Christmas Fair on 05 December. It is heartening that in a time of recession, people donated so much that we were able to sell at our Christmas Fair,
making it the most successful ever, with net proceeds in excess of £7,500.
Our tour of the town with our Carol Float and Santa Claus was another success and we would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of its
outings, Fussell Wadman who provided the vehicle, and those who put money in the buckets during its travels. Despite the appalling weather in early December, the Carol Float has raised about £4,000.
Rest assured that this money will be used to support the local community, and also to support Lions International charities that deliver aid in less developed countries than ours and provide a swift response when disaster strikes.
Devizes Lions Club thanks all those who have supported the Club in 2009 and sends Seasons Greetings to all your readers.
