1026909 Chartered 1970 (District 105W) and twinned with
Mayenne in France.
Devizes Lions raised and distributed £32,000 in 2007/8. The Lions thank the people of Devizes and all those
who helped and supported us in our fund raising and continue to do so.
Devizes Lions and Rotary Clubs get together once year to organise a Charity Golf Day at North Wilts Golf Club. This year it took place on Wednesday 14th May 2008. The weather was great and all those playing thoroughly enjoyed the event. More importantly, it raised almost £2,000 for charitable purposes.
Not only did the participants enjoy a good morning's shooting, but the event also raised just over £500 which will be used for charitable purposes.
Our thanks to the Urchfont Gun Club and the participants who helped make the morning such a success. It will be repeated next year. Watch this web site for details.
The Lions' annual SPONSORED WALK of about ten miles from the Wharf onto Roundway Hill and back is eagerly anticipated and is used by many local groups and charities to raise funds.
Lions are members of Lions Clubs International, a community service organisation
dedicated to the idea that the men and women who live in a community are in the best
position to know who needs help and why. Local Clubs are part of the world's largest such
organization, with 1.4 million members serving in more than 180 countries and areas of the world. The
association is both non-political and non-sectarian.
