Lions are members of Lions Clubs International, a community service organisation
dedicated to the idea that the men and women who live in a community are in the best
position to know who needs help and why. Local Clubs are part of the world's largest such
organization, with 1.4 million members serving in more than 180 countries and areas of the world. The
association is both non-political and non-sectarian.

The Christmas Fair held in the Corn Exchange raised a record amount of money for good causes - over £8,000 which is the best this event has achieved. Thank you to all who donated goods for us to sell and the good people who came and bought. The Lions Club is grateful to the others of the town and villages who came and helped to ensure the day went smoothly.
The Sponsored Walk, organised by Lions to help others raise money for their own good causes, saw over £8,500 collected through the walk cards. The Club is delighted with this response.
The Club has also been very pleased to support a local runner who completed the New York marathon, a cheque for £500 towards Cystic Fibrosis research has been forwarded.
The Father Christmas Carol Float has completed its rounds this year, unfortunately some houses could not be visited due to bad weather, we hope the children not too disappointed. The clowns received a good welcome as they knocked on doors and the club appreciates the donations received.

The President of Devizes Lions for 2011/2012 is Lion Andy Sheppard,
Lion Andy who will be familiar to many pet owners as he runs Rangebourne Pet Care at 38 New Park Street, Devizes.
He has decided not to adopt a single presidential charity for his year, but has decided to support groups in our area that have a remit to help others.
He feels that supporting organisations such as those that recently received funds at the club’s presentation evening helps to spread the
benefit of the Club’s work more widely.
He would be pleased to hear about any possible deserving causes and is happy for people to drop into Rangebourne and have a chat.
Lion Andy is not new to the Presidential role, having been in that role for Devizes Leo Club (young Lions) in 1973!
