<><>Lions are members of Lions Clubs International, a community service organisation dedicated to the idea that the men and women who live in a community are in the best position to know who needs help and why. Local Clubs are part of the world's largest such organization, with 1.4 million members serving in more than 180 countries and areas of the world. The association is both non-political and non-sectarian.
The Lions thank the people of Devizes and all those who helped and supported us in our fund raising and continue to do so.
Lions in the Community
Through your help we have been able to raise many thousands of £s to help support local people and various charities. Our Welfare Committee meets once a month to consider various requests for help and then decides how to allocate these funds.
At a Presentation Evening at the end of our last Lions year, cheques to a value of over £12000 were presented to over forty organisations, most local. During the year the Club had raised funds through a variety of sales, collections and concerts, and distributed almost £30,000 to worthwhile causes, including many other individual local people, families and groups that have approached us when in need of support. In addition, we enabled groups to raise their own funds through our popular Sponsored Walk and Swimarathon, and we provided over 400 children with new sporting experiences on our Sports Coaching Weekend.

Latest News
The Sports Coaching weekend went very well despite the cold weather. Golf had to be cancelled but we hope to run the coaching at a date soon. We apologise for cancelling the Mountain Biking on Sunday, but the chill factor was well below zero.
We aim to run Sports Coaching again in 2014, so most children will have another chance to try something different. If there is a sport you think we should cover - just let us know.

May Fair - Monday 6th May 2013 (public holiday)
Devizes Lions are holding a special Victorian May Fayre in Devizes Market Place on Monday 6 May (public holiday). There will be a Galloping Horses Carousel, Punch & Judy Show, Wheelbarrow Race, Bouncy Castle, Traditional Fairground Stalls, Live Music, Victorian Fancy Dress Competition, Trade and Charity Stalls, Hot Food and much more. Entertainment for the whole family from 10.00 am. Entertainment for the whole family from 10.00am In Devizes Market Place, The Corn Exchange and The Shambles.
A Victorian Theme this year, ride on a Victorian carousel in the Market place. Plenty of Trade stands and Charity Stalls
Charity Golf Day - Wednesday 15th May 2013
A joint event with the Rotary Club of Devizes.
Venue - North Wilts Golf Club
The Lions Clubs share of the profit from this Event will be donated to Help for Heroes charity.
Dorothy House is the Rotary nominated charity.
